ARTIST STATEMENT
My artistic process and personal recognition has been a metamorphosis.
My main interest is to carry out an investigation through art, around various aspects of the way I conceive, the materiality of objects and situations of daily life. To achieve this, I use different artistic techniques such as illustration, painting, ceramics, photography, installation and performance. Establishing a relationship between materiality, and the support that contains it. Many of my works are the integration of an existing medium. which I intervene with some element which comes to play and receive a symbolic load different from its original.
The results lead me to investigate and delve deeper into the subject that worries me.
WHO I AM
I am Cesar Alberto Agudelo Cárdenas, teacher of plastic and visual arts at the University of Tolima.
Arriving at my adulthood, I discover that art is the mechanism of expression of an alternative language. At that time thousands of questions arise due to learned preconceptions. Where I start a process of unlearning to learn. My work has been a reflection on gender and how our society perceives it. Transgressing has become a recurring language in me, finding in the countercultural scene a tool and a deep feeling, which moves me to think that being different is not synonymous with being wrong.
